Greetings Rosedale Center Parents, Guardians, and Community,

My name is Joe Kopec, and I am humbled and honored to serve you as principal of the Rosedale Alternative Center.  My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture that is conducive to teaching, learning, and equity.  By doing so, each individual student and staff member can experience growth to their highest potential.

I have been an educator with the Baltimore County Public School system since 2005.  Prior to becoming principal, I held many leadership experiences with Baltimore County Public Schools.  I was the assistant principal at New Town High School for eight years, principal of Milford EDLP for seven years, and department chair of social studies for six years.  Even with these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart.  My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a Master’s degree from Wesley College.  By pursuing lifelong learning, I intend to be an example for students and staff that we should never stop learning.

I am married and the father of two amazing girls.  I have the same expectations for my children as I do your student.  I want to see them excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunities to pursue whatever dreams they aspire to when they graduate.

Once again, I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve the communities of the Rosedale Alternative Center and look forward to getting to know you, interacting with all stakeholders, and, most importantly, connecting with and supporting your student.  Please feel free to contact me at 443-809-0133 with any questions, ideas, or concerns you would like to discuss.
